Frequently asked questions

What really happens to my money?

After Apple takes its cut, it lands in a very boring bank account, where it patiently waits for my retirement. Promise.

Do I get anything in return?

Yes: 365 quotes – one for every day of the year –, a widget for your Home Screen, and the warm feeling of being part of possibly the most honest business model in the world.

Can I pay more?

No. 1.– per person, that's the principle. Fair is fair. But you're welcome to tell the whole world about this app – that helps a lot more.

When can you actually retire on this?

Let's not do the math. But every single download moves the deck chair one millimetre closer to the sea.

Does the app collect data about me?

No. No accounts, no servers, no tracking, no ads. The app doesn't even need an internet connection. Details are in the privacy policy – it's refreshingly short.

Which languages does the app speak?

English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Simplified Chinese. The app follows your device language automatically; every other language gets English.

Is there an Android version?

Not for now – Meine Rente is made for iPhone and iPad. If enough people ask, I'll think about it from the deck chair.

Why is the app called “Meine Rente”?

Because that's German for “my pension”, and because the name says exactly what the app is for. The app itself speaks your language – the name stays German. Some things are funnier untranslated.

Are you serious?

Absolutely. And that's exactly why it works.
